The YWCA Berkeley/Oakland, along with all YWCAs across California, are working to eliminate policies and practices like racial profiling, immigrant surveillance, mass deportation, immigration enforcement raids, and racist immigration policies that criminalize people of color and other marginalized communities.
On Monday, March 12th, 2018 at 4:00pm, the YWCA Berkeley/Oakland Advocacy Program will be hosting a “Know Your Rights Workshop.” The training will be conducted by Oakland Centro Legal de la Raza, a legal services agency protecting and advancing the rights of immigrant, low-income, and Latino communities.
The workshop will cover what to do in your home, school, workplace, or out on the streets if faced with deportation and ICE raids.
We support efforts to provide community members with resources and hold law enforcement accountable to address the role that biases, and institutional practices play in their interactions with communities of color and other marginalized groups.
We hope that you will join us Monday, March 12th, at 4:00pm!
