Annual YWCA Membership only $20 and receive up to $10 discount on all dance and fitness Class Cards!

YWCA Class Card

Purchase a Class Card and apply sessions to any dance & fitness classes offered! Use all sessions in the same class or apply them to multiple classes. Classes fill quickly! You may sign up for classes:

  • Sign up for a Class Card In Person or By Phone – all major credit cards accepted
  • In Person – During our regular business hours
  • By Mail – Check payable to the YWCA

Class Rates

YWCA Dance & Fitness classes run throughout the year in three seasons, Fall (September – December), Spring (January – May), Summer (May – August) allowing for more dance class opportunities for everyone!

Or you can save money by signing up for classes by purchasing a YWCA Class Card! You pick the dates and classes you want to attend!

  • 4 class card – $45 |
    • with membership $40
  • 8 class card $85 |
    • with membership $75 [$21 savings!]
  • 12 class card $115 | $9.58 per class
    • with membership $105 [$39 savings!]

The YWCA class card is valid for 90 days.

Extension policy: For $10 you can extend your class card for 25 days. Extensions must happen before class card expires. Extensions can only be done once and must be done in person or over the phone.

Enrollment Policy

  • Once a class has reached its full enrollment, the class will be closed.

Refund Policy

No refunds. A credit for the class may be issued only through the Program Director and is to their discretion. Any unused sessions from the Class Card are non-refundable. YWCA Class Cards are valid for 90’s after the first session is attended. If a class is cancelled the client may apply the session to another class offered. Refunds are only issued when the person has a doctor’s medical note.

Ballet

Ballet For Fun and Fitness

Summer Dates: Mondays, June 11th – August 6th at 5:15 pm         

Gain strength, flexibility and grace. Get a fun workout using ballet techniques. For beginners, all levels welcome. Instructor: Marie Newsom , former member of American 

Ballet Theatre.

Argentine Tango

Argentine Tango: Fundamentals 

Summer Dates: Mondays, June 11th – August 6th at 6:30 pm

This beginner-friendly class will focus on fundamental techniques to prepare you for the social dance floor. Experienced tango dancers are welcome to attend to improve their dance.  Instructor: Jonas Aquino studied Argentine Tango in Buenos Aires, and have taught throughout the Bay Area.

Flamenco Dance

Flamenco Dance

Summer Dates: Mondays, June 11th – August 6th at 7:45 pm

Explore the foundations of this dynamic art form of multicultural Southern Spain known for its intricate rhythms, percussive footwork with an emphasis on a strong, grounded and expressive upper body.  Instructor: Sara Ayala, Co-founder of Flamenco Vivo, studied in Spain with Flamenco masters.

JAZZ DANCE

Jazz Dance 

Summer Dates: Tuesdays, June 12th – August 7th at 5:15 pm

Get a workout, acquire jazz dance technique and flexibility. Learn routines that incorporate jazz, hip hop and other styles. For beginners and all levels! Instructor: Jenny DeRuntz, former instructor and coach for United Spirit Association and Columbia University. Berklee Sati, former instructor and coach for Afinkao Dance Company and Sangre Latina and Coach of the Santa Rosa Junior College Cheer and Dance Team

Salsa

Club Style Beginning Salsa

Summer Dates: Tuesdays, June 12th – August 7th at 6:30 pm

Learn your Salsa basics quickly to get ready to go out and dance at the clubs and Summer festivals. Each one hour session students learn basic moves and put them into a mini-pattern. Intended for those curious about Salsa and who want to learn FAST. Beginners through Advanced Beginners welcome.  NO partner necessary, we rotate!  Please wear non rubber soled shoes, comfortable clothing and bring your positive attitude – you will be dancing Salsa soon! Students with solid Salsa basics are welcome. No partner required. Non-rubber soled shoes suggested. Instructor: Ruth Caspary, Owner of Latin Connection

Contemporary

Contemporary: Dance Technique and Choreography

Summer Dates: Wednesdays, June 13th – August 8th  at 5:15 pm

Join award-winning choreographer Sarah Bush for an hour of diving into this expressive style of dance. We’ll spend each month learning a section of choreography and how to strengthen the techniques involved in the movement.  This class is designed to be inspiring for all bodies and all levels of dancers. visit Sarahbushdance.com for more information.

Bellydance

Bellydance: Technique & Combinations

Summer Dates: Wednesdays, June 13th – August 8th  at 6:30 pm

This class is open to dancers of all different dance backgrounds and levels. Learn body isolations, shimmies, and layering techniques in a fun and supportive environment. As the course progresses, we will be exploring more complex movement technique, advanced layering, and traveling steps. We will put these concepts together into a short choreographies and combinations at the end of each class! Instructor:  Nicole Maria Hoffschneider Nicole Maria is a bellydance teacher, choreographer, soloist and performer based out of Oakland, California. As a performer, she is interested in portraying both contemporary and traditional forms of Middle Eastern dance as well as dances from Turkey and the Balkans.
