YWCA Class Card

Purchase a Class Card and apply sessions to any dance & fitness classes offered! Use all sessions in the same class or apply them to multiple classes. Classes fill quickly! You may sign up for classes:

  • Sign up for a Class Card In Person or By Phone – all major credit cards accepted
  • In Person – During our regular business hours – we accept cash, check and credit card
  • By Mail – Check payable to the YWCA

Class Rates

YWCA Dance & Fitness classes run throughout the year in three seasons, Fall (August – November), Spring (January – May), Summer (May – August) allowing for more dance class opportunities for everyone!

Or you can save money by signing up for classes by purchasing a YWCA Class Card! You pick the dates and classes you want to attend!

  • 4 class card – $45 |
    • with membership $40
  • 8 class card $85 |
    • with membership $75 [$21 savings!]
  • 12 class card $115 | $9.58 per class
    • with membership $105 [$39 savings!]

The YWCA class card is valid for 90 days.

Extension policy: For $10 you can extend your class card for 25 days. Extensions must happen before class card expires. Extensions can only be done once and must be done in person or over the phone.

Enrollment Policy

  • Once a class has reached its full enrollment, the class will be closed.

Refund Policy

No refunds. A credit for the class may be issued only through the Program Director and is to their discretion. Any unused sessions from the Class Card are non-refundable. YWCA Class Cards are valid for 90’s after the first session is attended. If a class is cancelled the client may apply the session to another class offered. Refunds are only issued when the person has a doctor’s medical note.

Ballet

Ballet For Fun and Fitness

Fall Dates: Mondays, January 28th – April 29th at 5:15 pm         

Gain balance, strength and fluid movement while achieving excellent technique, poise and posture. Learn the basics while stretching, strengthening, and improving balance, flexibility and fitness.

Argentine Tango

Argentine Tango: Fundamentals 

Fall Dates: Mondays, January 28th – April 29th at 6:30 pm

This beginner-friendly class will focus on fundamental techniques to prepare you for the social dance floor. Experienced tango dancers are welcome to attend to improve their dance.

Instructor: Jonas Aquino studied Argentine Tango in Buenos Aires, and have taught throughout the Bay Area.

Flamenco Dance

Flamenco Dance

Fall Dates: Mondays, January 28th – April 29th at 7:45 pm

Explore the foundations of this dynamic art form of multicultural Southern Spain known for its intricate rhythms, percussive footwork with an emphasis on a strong, grounded and expressive upper body.

Instructor: Sara Ayala, Co-founder of Flamenco Vivo, studied in Spain with Flamenco masters.

Tuesday Dance/Fitness Classes

Dance Groove

Dance Groove

Fall Dates: Tuesdays, January 29th – April 30th at 5:15 pm

Come move your body at Dance Groove! You’ll have fun and get a personalized workout as we learn choreography to feel-good pop music. No previous dance experience required, and all choreography can be tailored to your individual fitness level.

Instructor: Berklee Sati, former instructor and coach for Afinkao Dance Company and Sangre Latina and Coach of the Santa Rosa Junior College Cheer and Dance Team

Salsa

Beginning Salsa

Fall dates: Tuesdays, January 29th – April 30th at 6:30 pm

Connect to the passion, music and dance of Salsa! Ruth Caspary will teach the footwork, mini-patterns and styling you need to be a great Social Salsa Dancer. Review and practice are part of the program as well as lead and follow techniques. More experienced students will be challenged. No partner required. Non-rubber soled shoes suggested.

Bridge Salsa

Fall dates: Tuesdays, January 29th – April 30th at 7:30 pm

A continuation of basics but using key moves such as synchronized turns and hand tosses. Students will learn transitions from basics into these moves and build up mini-patterns. Ruth Caspary will break down the move and teach the transitions that will have you looking like an Intermediate dancer right away. Students with solid Salsa basics are welcome. No partner required. Non-rubber soled shoes suggested.

Feldenkrais

Feldenkrais Method ®

Learn to move more gracefully by paying attention to yourself. Gain mobility and ease at your own pace in this voice – led Feldenkrais Method® awareness through movement class. Come see for yourself!

Bellydance

Bellydance: Technique & Combinations

Fall Dates: Wednesdays, January 30th – May 1st at 5:15 pm [Location: Auditorium]

This class is open to dancers of all different dance backgrounds and levels. Learn body isolations, shimmies, and basic layering techniques in a fun and supportive environment. Each day we will learn a short combination that will utilize the techniques learned in class.

Instructor:  Natalie Nayun Natalie is an international teacher and performer. She has been dancing for over 16 years and teaching for over 10 years. 

Hip Hop

Contemporary: Dance Technique and Choreography
