Annual YWCA Membership only $20 and receive up to $10 discount on all dance and fitness series!

YWCA Class Card

Purchase a Class Card and apply sessions to any dance & fitness classes offered! Use all sessions in the same class or apply them to multiple classes. Classes fill quickly! You may sign up for classes:

  • Sign Up Online or By Phone – all major credit cards accepted
  • In Person – During our regular business hours
  • By Mail – Check payable to the YWCA

Class Rates

YWCA Dance & Fitness classes run throughout the year in three seasons, Fall (September – December), Spring (January – May), Summer (May – August) allowing for more dance class opportunities for everyone!

  • Self Defense class is donation based, with a $5 suggestion.

  • 4 class card – $45 | $11.25 per class
    • with membership $40
  • 8 class card $85 | $10.63 per class
    • with membership $75 [$21 savings!]
  • 12 class card $115 | $9.58 per class
    • with membership $105 [$39 savings!]
  • Single class drop in is $12

The YWCA class card is valid for 90 days.

Extension policy: For $10 you can extend your class card for 25 days. Extensions must happen before class card expires. Extensions can only be done once and must be done in person or over the phone.

Enrollment Policy

  • Once a class has reached its full enrollment, the class will be closed.
  • At the start of the first class, drop-in payments will be accepted if class has not reached full enrollment.

Refund Policy

No refunds. A credit for the class may be issued only through the Program Director and is to their discretion. Any unused sessions from the Class Card are non-refundable. YWCA Class Cards are valid for 90’s after the first session is attended. If a class is cancelled the client may apply the session to another class offered. Refunds are only issued when the person has a doctor’s medical note.

Want to build strength, flexibility, and balance- in both body and mind? THis class is set to music and focuses on alignment and the linking of breath to movement throughout the physically challenging practice.  Instructor:  Rose Alicia Allen, though dance has played a significant role in her life, only in the past few years did she discover the complementary practice of yoga.

Explore the foundations of this dynamic art form of multicultural Southern Spain known for its intricate rhythms, percussive footwork with an emphasis on a strong, grounded and expressive upper body.  Instructor: Sara Ayala, Co-founder of Flamenco Vivo, studied in Spain with Flamenco masters.

Salsa

Fall Dates: Tuesdays, September 5 – December 12th at 6:30 pm

Connect to the passion, music and dance of Salsa! Ruth Caspary will teach the footwork, mini-patterns and styling you need to be a great Social Salsa Dancer. Review and practice are part of the program as well as lead and follow techniques. More experienced students will be challenged. No partner required. Non-rubber soled shoes suggested. Instructor: Ruth Caspary.

Fall Dates: Tuesdays, September 5 – December 12th at 7:30 pm

A continuation of basics but using key moves such as synchronized turns and hand tosses. Students will learn transitions from basics into these moves and build up mini-patterns. Ruth Caspary will break down the move and teach the transitions that will have you looking like an Intermediate dancer right away. Want to get a great workout while learning Bollywood dance steps? Please join us at the YWCA “Chalo Let’s Dance” Bollywood class. This class is open to dancers of different dance backgrounds and levels. Learn body isolations, shimmies, and basic layering techniques in a fun and supportive environment. Instructor:  Natalie Nayun, an international teacher and performer, currently directs Adara Dance Company and performs with Nava Dance Collective and Zenotope.

We will explore movement in Belly Dance Fusion, by combining belly dance technique with other techniques from Central Asia and Modern/Contemporary movement vocabulary and put them into a Choreography. It is recommended that you have more than 1 year of prior belly dance knowledge.  Instructor:  Natalie Nayun.

Learn fundamental moves and various routines of hip hop dance while grooving to the latest music. This class provides a fun and challenging workout for beginning to advanced beginning levels.

Instructor: Katherine Brown’s style of dance is a balance of an in the studio/ out – the- studio structure; focusing on technique and discipline that you get from dance studio instruction, and the heart, passion soul and discipline you would experience out-of-the-studio. 

Argentine Tango

This beginner-friendly class will focus on fundamental techniques to prepare you for the social dance floor. Experienced tango dancers are welcome to attend to improve their dance.  Instructor: Jonas Aquino studied Argentine Tango in Buenos Aires, and have taught throughout the Bay Area.

Self Defense

Learn Personal safety and karate techniques while enjoying your workout. For beginners, all levels welcome!

Instructor: Tanya Kumar. Tanya studied kenpo karate for 10 years. During these years she has taught karate and self- defense techniques, participated in Action Karate Invitational Tournaments, and earned a second degree black belt.
