*This year, in place of our in-person event, we are excited to be creating the Shadow Day Resource Booklet! Much of the information that would be provided during the event is being compiled by our team into a handy downloadable booklet. It will be posted on this page when completed, so keep an eye on this page for updates!*
Shadow Day is an annual, day long event that brings together over 600 participants including 300 Bay Area high school students from the East Bay, to be matched in pairs with 300 current UC Berkeley students who share similar backgrounds and interests. Together, Cal mentors will bring their high school student mentees to shadow their classes, tour campus, attend workshops, and participate in fun activities on campus and at the YWCA.
Shadow Day aims to provide resources to recruit and support Black, Indigenous, Latinx and other students who have been historically underrepresented in the UC system by making connections, and providing high school youth with opportunities to learn how to apply and pay for college.
