Freda Statom-Greene

Named a LeaderSpring 2022 Women of Color LeadStrong Fellow, Freda Statom-Greene  comes to the YWCA Berkeley/Oakland with more than 20 years of experience in fundraising/partnership strategy and revenue generation, board relations and support, communications, leadership, and community relations and advocacy. She has served in a number of leadership roles including with organizations with missions and goals similar to those of the YWCA Berkeley/Oakland.

Freda has a Bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of California, Berkeley. She has a certificate in fundraising management from Indiana University Center of Philanthropy. She has served on the advisory boards of the Hidden Genius Project and the Black Female Project and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

“Our world’s ongoing trials are reminders that our well-being and success are interconnected,” said Statom-Greene. “For 133 years, the YWCA Berkeley/Oakland has been at the forefront of racial, social and gender equality and justice, and yet in 2022, there is still much to do in these arenas. I am thrilled to join the YWCA sisterhood in our fight to eliminate racism and empower women.”
