Support the Mental Health Program by Donating Below

In the past year, we asked the community what resources the YWCA Berkeley/Oakland should focus on. Out of the 27 categories people identified, Therapy/Mental Health Resources topped the list.

And now, Mental Health is one of our brand new offerings.  Our goal is to partner with our Berkeley/Oakland community members to offer a culturally responsive mental health program that is a useful resource for everyone.

We hope to support and resource people via events, workshops, and other activities that will support mental and emotional wellbeing.

We hear you & are responding!

Our Vision

Clinical Training Program

We are offering no to low cost individual & group therapy services for the Berkeley/Oakland Community. Our focus is on serving adults  who have had involvement with the criminal legal system; and people from immigrant and BIPOC communities. Our clinicians will be pre licensed individuals who are seeking to offer meaningful, trauma informed and culturally responsive therapy services to our community. Sessions will be provided in person, on site at our offices.

External Community Offerings

These include fun activities that invite people to centre their own mental health and wellness.  It includes  support groups, healing circles, art based gatherings and other group based activities that foster community connection, and encourage people to slow down, reconnect with themselves and nurture their emotional wellbeing.

Internal Offerings

These are designed to support  the mental and emotional wellbeing, resilience and professional growth of the YWCA staff, clinical interns, and workforce development interns. It include wellness activities, reflective spaces, educational opportunities, healing circles,  and other activities that allow us to foster connection, give and receive support to one another and reduce burnout as we continue to provide much needed services to the wider community.
