The Strong Women For These Times Speaker Series was created in response to the ongoing challenges facing women, gender non-conforming individuals, and marginalized communities today. In an era where rights and protections are increasingly under threat, it is crucial to provide a space for dialogue, empowerment, and action. This series serves as a platform to uplift voices that challenge injustice, inspire advocacy, and promote resilience in the face of adversity.
At YWCA Berkeley/Oakland, we believe that knowledge and conversation are powerful tools for social change. By engaging with thought leaders, activists, educators, and artists, we hope to spark meaningful discussions that encourage individuals to take action in their own lives and communities. This initiative aligns with our mission to eliminate racism, empower women, develop leaders, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
