  • Planned giving is the process of donating planned gifts, also known as legacy gifts, which are contributions that are arranged in the present and allocated at a future date. Help us build a brighter future!

    In all of these decisions, you’ll want to consult a legal advisor, like your attorney or an estate planning professional, to make sure the details are in order.

    Planned Giving Through a Bequest

    A bequest is simply a gift made through your will. This is one of the simplest ways to make a planned gift. You might specify the bequest as a dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. You could also donate real estate or even personal property such as antiques or collectibles.

    Life Insurance Policy Beneficiary

    Another simple way to give is by naming your charity of choice as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. You can leave them the whole policy or a portion of it. Check with your insurance agent for more information on how to do this.

    Retirement Plan Beneficiary

    Whether you have an IRA, a 401(k), or another type of plan, you can leave all or part of your retirement to your chosen charity. Talk with your plan administrator to learn more.

    Remember, many planned gifts are revocable during your lifetime. That means you can change your mind—and your giving—if your priorities change. So it’s never too early to start making plans.

  • At the YWCA, we rely on the generosity of neighbors and partners to keep our shelves stocked and our activities vibrant. Our Basic Needs program provides critical food, clothing, and hygiene products to local families, while our enrichment programs utilize games, wellness items, gift cards, and raffle prizes to create engaging community spaces. Every single item you give directly impacts someone in our neighborhood.

    Whether you are donating a single hygiene item or coordinating a large donation drive with your workplace, your support ensures we can continue showing up for those who need it most.

  • A donor-advised fund allows you to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants from the fund over time. 

    How to give through DAF:

    1. Fill out our website’s donation form as normal; however, on the “Payment Details” page, be sure to click DAFPay at the top.

    2. This will lead you to log in to your DAF account portal to confirm the donation.

    OR (direct from your account)

    1. Log in to your DAF account portal (such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or a community foundation).

    2. Select the option to recommend a grant or make a contribution.

    3. Search for the YWCA by name or enter our exact EIN (94-1156363)

    4. Enter the donation amount.

    5. Specify the purpose (such as a general fund or a specific campaign) in the designation or memo field.

    6. Choose acknowledgment preferences (decide whether to share your name and address or to give anonymously).

    7. Submit the grant recommendation for approval and processing by your DAF sponsor.
